✨ 01 Entering Colombia: A Vibrant City on the South American Plateau

Colombia is located in the northwestern part of South America, featuring diverse landscapes of mountains, seas, rainforests, and plateaus. It is a Latin American country with remarkable artistic charm and development potential. The capital, Bogotá, sits on the Andean plateau at an altitude of 2,600 meters, with a population of over ten million, serving as the political, economic, and cultural core of Colombia.

This city blends colonial ancient architecture with modern urban style, and its street graffiti and gold culture are world-renowned. Influenced by the plateau climate, the local area features strong ultraviolet radiation, large diurnal temperature variations, and rainy, humid conditions, placing extremely high demands on the weather resistance, moisture resistance, and anti-aging properties of building materials. At the same time, Bogotá advocates transparent, energy-efficient, and lightweight bioclimate architecture concepts, making perforated metal building materials a preferred choice for municipal infrastructure.

✨02 Bogotá Metro: A Brand-New Urban Transportation Landmark

Bogotá Metro Line 1 spans 23.96 kilometers in full length, with the entire line designed as an elevated structure, featuring 16 stations. A single trip takes only 27 minutes, with a daily passenger volume exceeding one million, connecting core urban districts and significantly improving citywide commuting efficiency.

Distinct from traditional heavy subway architecture, this project adopts a light and transparent modern design style, abandoning enclosed concrete walls in favor of green design focused on perforation, daylighting, and ventilation. This project implemented 3,600 m² of decorative aluminum expanded metal, comprehensively applied to core areas including station exterior curtain walls, interior ceilings, entrance column cladding, and sunshade partitions, achieving integrated interior and exterior station decoration.

Leveraging the perforated characteristics of aluminum expanded metal, the stations perfectly adapt to Bogotá’s plateau climate, achieving natural ventilation, soft light shading, and rapid drainage, balancing aesthetics and practicality, and creating a modern rail transit space adapted to the local environment.

✨03 Decorative Aluminum Expanded Metal: The Versatile Building Material of Choice for Rail Transit

Decorative aluminum expanded metal is a new type of metal decorative material formed through integral stretch forming, featuring no welding joints, stable structure, and customizable colors and specifications. With multiple core advantages, it became the preferred building material for this major Bogotá Metro project:

  1. Lightweight load-bearing, adapted to elevated infrastructure: Aluminum expanded metal weighs only 40% of solid aluminum panels, significantly reducing the steel structure load of elevated stations, perfectly meeting the stringent load-bearing standards of metro elevated projects and enhancing building safety.
  2. Superior weather resistance, adapted to plateau climate: Combined with outdoor PVDF fluorocarbon spray coating, it fearlessly withstands strong ultraviolet radiation, rainy humidity, and diurnal temperature variations, remaining rust-free, fade-free, and peel-free over long-term use, with easy cleaning and low maintenance, adapted to long-term overseas usage scenarios.
  3. Perforated transparency, combining energy efficiency and aesthetics: The mesh structure facilitates free air circulation, reducing station ventilation and cooling energy consumption; soft diffuse reflection of light avoids harsh direct sunlight, breaking the oppressive atmosphere of traditional subway stations, with rich light and shadow layers and a premium feel.
  4. Safe and durable, adapted to high-traffic scenarios: The integral forming process delivers high strength, impact resistance, and deformation resistance, meeting rail transit Class A fire protection standards, adapted to the high passenger flow and high wear environment of metro stations.
  5. Efficient construction, outstanding cost-performance ratio: Modular prefabricated production enables rapid on-site assembly, significantly shortening construction periods; high material utilization and recyclable reuse deliver excellent cost-performance ratio for large-scale public construction projects.
